Shipping Procedures and Import Permits

Canadian Orders

Import permits are not required for orders places from within Canada. Once your order for insects or diet is submitted, we will send an e-mail acknowledging receipt and confirming the requested shipping date(s). On the day that we send your order(s), we will send another e-mail notifying you of their departure, along with the tracking number and web address for the courier service that was used, so that you can track the shipment of your order. Insects are always shipped at the beginning of the week to ensure that they don’t spend a weekend in the warehouse of a shipping company. We use the most expedient method of delivery available unless requested otherwise by the customer. Due to varying shipping costs associated with location, order size and speed of delivery requested, our advertised prices do not include fees for courier services. You will be invoiced after shipping.

U.S. Orders

All insect orders entering the U.S. require an import permit and applicable shipping sticker(s) that are your responsibility to obtain. A U.S. Department of Agriculture import permit application form and instructions may be obtained on-line at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ppq/permits. After obtaining your approved documentation, you are required to send us a copy of the permit and original shipping sticker(s) before we can fill your order. Please send your documentation to:

You can then go on-line and place your order with us. Once we receive your order, permit and sticker(s), we will send an e-mail acknowledging receipt and confirming the requested shipping date(s). A copy of your permit is placed inside the parcel and the appropriate USDA sticker on the outside. Your parcel is sent to the USDA inspection agency listed on the sticker where it is inspected prior to delivery to you by the courier service. International Orders (other than U.S.)

Procedures for the importation of insects vary between countries. You are required to provide us with approved import documentation issued by the relevant government agency before we can provide shipment. Where there are no restrictions for import, you must provide us with notification from the pertinent government agency that a permit is not required. Please send your documentation to:
