Prepared Artificial Diets for purchase
All orders are subject to shipping costs and applicable taxes.
We use the most expedient method of delivery available unless requested otherwise by the customer. Due to varying shipping costs associated with location, order size and speed of delivery requested, our advertised prices do not include fees for courier services. Customers who do not have or provide us with an account number for the courier service that is used will have the applicable charges added to their order. You will be invoiced after shipping. Payment may be made by cheque (Canadian funds) or credit card (Visa or Mastercard).
Prepared artificial diets are available for all of the insect species that we produce. Freshly made diet (maximum 5-days-old) is distributed in individual 1 oz (29.5ml) or 10 oz (295 ml) translucent plastic containers (approximately ¾ full) with breathable cardboard lids. Diet will remain useable for about 2-3 weeks from the date of shipment when stored at 4°C upon receipt. Containers are resealable and are shipped on disposable cardboard trays.
Our McMorran diet is suitable for the rearing of spruce budworm, cabbage looper and fir coneworm. This diet has also been used successfully for the rearing of black army cutworm, eastern and western blackheaded budworm, large aspen tortrix, jack pine budworm, oleander hawk-moth, saltmarsh caterpillar and tobacco hornworm.
Our Bell diet has been developed for the rearing of both whitemarked and rusty tussock moths. This diet has also been used successfully for the rearing of Douglas-fir tussock moth and spongy moth.
Our Beetle Diet has been developed for rearing beetles belonging to the family Cerambycidae or long-horned beetles. The prepared diet is extremely high in fiber with an incredible shelf life of six weeks.
Customers may choose to eliminate diet ingredients at the time of ordering, depending on their specific requirements.
The 1 oz cup orders will provide 90 cups per tray, 10 oz orders provide 15 cups per tray. 4 oz ALB cup orders provide 45 cups per tray, and 8 oz ALB cup orders provide 28 cups per tray.
